Genetic Variation and Disease

We are interested in the underlying genetic basis of disease and use both candidate gene and genomic approaches to accomplish our goals. Our projects involve population genetics approaches, animal model studies, transcriptome analysis, and in vitro functional assays to evaluate risk allele effects. Currently, we concentrate in respiratory conditions such as asthma and acute lung injury using samples from clinically characterized patients and control subjects.
